The Activities Staff at SNF-Morristown Manor plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents through engaging and meaningful activities. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and needs of the residents. The ultimate goal is to promote social interaction, physical well-being, and emotional support among the residents, fostering a sense of community and belonging. The Activities Staff will collaborate with other team members to ensure that activities are inclusive and accessible to all residents, regardless of their abilities. By creating a vibrant and stimulating environment, the Activities Staff contributes significantly to the overall wellness and happiness of the residents at Morristown Manor.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate daily activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of residents.
- Coordinate special events and outings to enhance resident engagement and socialization.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to improve future programming.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure activities align with residents’ therapeutic needs.
- Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere that encourages resident involvement and interaction.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with elderly populations or in a healthcare setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in recreational therapy or a related field.
- Experience in event planning or group facilitation.
Skills
The required skills for this position include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for building rapport with residents and understanding their needs. Organizational skills are crucial for planning and executing a variety of activities effectively, ensuring that all logistics are managed smoothly.
