1. MDS Coordination Oversight: * Assist the Regional Assessment Specialists in managing and supervising the MDS teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of RAI process to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. * Monitor MDS completion rates and accuracy, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Regulatory Compliance: * Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to MDS assessments, including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines. * Stay current with changes in MDS assessment protocols, RAI manual updates, and other regulatory changes impacting MDS coordination. * Oversee departmental regular audits of MDS assessments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
3. Reimbursement Optimization: * Collaborate with the Managed Care and Billing departments to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for services rendered based on MDS assessments. * Review and analyze MDS data to identify opportunities for reimbursement optimization and quality improvement initiatives. * Provide education and training to staff on documentation practices and coding guidelines to support accurate reimbursement.
4. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: * Work closely with the interdisciplinary team, including nursing, therapy, social services, and dietary, to gather information for MDS assessments and develop comprehensive care plan * Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the MDS coordination teams.
Current Indiana Registered Nursing license. Must have five or more years experience in multi-sight support in MDS or related position within a skilled nursing organization. Must possess a strong understanding of MDS assessment protocols, RAI process, CMS quality programs, and regulatory requirements. Excellent leadership and management skills required. The ability to effectively lead and motivate a team. Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a valid Indiana Operator’s license.
