The Dining Service Server/Aide at Morristown Manor plays a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience for residents. This position involves providing exceptional service during meal times, ensuring that all residents receive their meals in a timely and courteous manner. The server/aide will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment, which is essential for resident satisfaction. Additionally, this role requires effective communication with kitchen staff to ensure that dietary needs and preferences are met. Ultimately, the Dining Service Server/Aide contributes significantly to the overall quality of life for residents by fostering a pleasant and enjoyable dining atmosphere.

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up dining areas before meals, including arranging tables and serving utensils.
  • Serve meals to residents, ensuring that each individual receives the correct order and any special dietary requirements are accommodated.
  • Assist residents with their dining needs, including cutting food, pouring beverages, and providing any necessary support.
  • Clear tables and clean dining areas after meals, maintaining a hygienic and organized environment.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding meal service and any resident feedback or requests.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in food safety or sanitation.
  • Experience working with elderly populations or in a healthcare setting.

The required skills for this position include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for interacting with residents and ensuring their needs are met. Attention to detail is crucial when serving meals and accommodating dietary restrictions, as it directly impacts resident satisfaction.
