Pre-billing and Billing (70%)

  • Processes and reviews unbilled charge reports, making corrections as needed before bills are processed at month end
  • Processes any additional fees as needed for consulting, computer lease, OTC tax, etc.
  • Enters correct pay type changes, adding guarantors’ if applicable, and rebilling to correct date of change as needed
  • Meets individual facility billing needs as requested by the facility, which are not normal billing procedures.
  • Reviews facility statements for accuracy, correcting and re-running as necessary, then sends them out in a timely manner
  • Reviews private pay statements for assigned facilities, giving past dues to collections, credit balances to supervisor or manager for investigation, and mailing out the remainder in a timely manner
  • Resolves questions and/or concerns from facilities regarding monthly statements, making corrections or adjustments as needed
  • Prepare price quotes as requested
  • Prepare all electronic billing to facilities as requested
  • Handles phone calls from private pay customers with questions regarding their bills.

Processing Pharmaceutical Charges (10%)

  • E-Box
  • Pharmacy charges (back up pharmacies)
  • Pharmaceuticals from Cubex

Collections and Customer Relations (10%)

  • Maintains assigned facilities accounts receivable aging, investigating and resolving non-payment issues
  • Visits assigned facilities as requested to review statements and maintain good customer relations
  • Filing
  • Maintains strong working relationships with Business Office Managers at LTC facilities.

Special Pricing of Resident Accounts (5%)

  • Review all requests of special price matching
  • Set up residents accounts appropriately
  • Monitor and review each account prior to month end review

General Office (5%)

  • Filing
  • Attends training as provided in order to improve self and quality of work
  • Accepts other duties as assigned from upper management
  • Minimum associate degree in health-related field or 3-5 years direct work experience in pharmacy billing related field
  • Understanding of Medicare/Medicaid/Hospice/Insurance pay types, medical terminology, and brand/generic medications required
  • Strong knowledge in pharmacy insurance claims adjudication and ability to resolve rejection messages
  • Strong knowledge in initiating insurance prior authorizations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, or like applications
  • Ability to perform all processes as it relates to a specific account
  • Exceptional computer skills, including data entry
  • Ability to exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and exhibit a willingness to perform new job processes
  • Must be able to multi-task and work at a fast pace
  • Maintains high level of attendance and punctuality
  • Communicates in a positive and respectful manner with customers and internal team members
  • Exhibits a “team work” attitude
