The Nurse Unit Manager at University Heights Health and Living plays a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing unit, ensuring that high-quality patient care is delivered consistently. This position involves managing nursing staff, coordinating patient care activities, and implementing policies that enhance the overall health and well-being of residents. The Nurse Unit Manager will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Additionally, this role requires effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to address any concerns and improve care outcomes. Ultimately, the Nurse Unit Manager is pivotal in shaping the quality of care provided and ensuring that the nursing unit operates efficiently and effectively.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Conduct staff training and performance evaluations to promote professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current RN or LPN license in the state of Ohio.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field (for RN) or an Associate’s degree (for LPN).
  • Previous experience in a nursing leadership or management role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in nursing management or leadership.
  • Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
