The Clinical Specialist is responsible to assigned communities for evaluating Nursing Services, promoting a high quality of nursing care, developing systems and procedures designed to make services efficient, and assure compliance with accepted clinical practices, state and federal regulations, and company policies.
- Evaluates the quality of clinical services in assigned communities.
- Evaluates systems governing Nursing Services to identify compliance and opportunities for improvement within assigned communities and makes recommendations to the Nursing Management and Administrator as needed.
- Helps in recruitment and training of Directors of Nursing and other nursing leadership as requested.
- Reviews and augments as needed the Quality Assurance activities of nursing services conducted by facility committees within assigned communities.
- Visits assigned communities as needed.
- Confers with the Administrator and Director of Nursing upon each visit and provides reports and updates as needed to the Director of Clinical Services.
- Attends any administrative training meetings as scheduled.
- Makes presentations at administrative training meetings when requested.
- Helps Clinical Navigation Specialist train nurses in case-mix and RUGS for maximum facility reimbursement.
- Reviews facility consultant reports as part of routine QA for assigned communities.
- Complies with customer services principles and reports any concerns identified during a visit to the Administrator.
- Reviews and assists with the reporting of all assigned communities’ State Reportables.
- Reports to assigned communities during an inspection survey to provide support; and collaborates with the Administrator and DON to develop and write corrective responses and the related QA activities required for nursing allegations cited during surveys.
- Participates in scheduled CQR process to identify any clinical areas of concern related to survey readiness.
- Current Indiana license as a Registered Nurse.
- Associate degree in nursing.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of prior experience in long-term care and management.
- Must have a valid Indiana Operator’s license.
